September 2015
Hello everyone,
I hope you all had a great month of August, whether you left for distant holiday or enjoyed remaining in towns when they are emptied of much of their inhabitants!
For me, August has been much less exotic and natural than the previous months: Francette having gone back to France (with a stopover for family reunion in Bali), I have attacked a period of big maintenance of the boat; this year it will be particularly hearty, to take advantage of all the resources of a country such as Australia: Banana Split has been hauled out of the water by one of the towering "travelifts" in the great Rivergate shipyard on Brisbane River and I am stranded here for four or five weeks, stick between all kinds of boats under repair or painting, including several large luxury yachts, some of them over forty meters long. As they are subjected to sandblasting, to sanding, to spray painting, they are mostly wrapped in huge contraptions composed of sheets of white plastic stretched on scaffolding, which gives them the appearance of huge ghosts!
My letter will be short, then, I will not tell you my work, dismantling things, gluing, painting, repairing, etc., it is not very glamorous! I'd rathe invite you to find some dream islands by visiting our destination of the month, the first of a series on the West Indies: our new film describing a catamaran cruise from Granada to St. Martin, along the arc of the Lesser Antilles, is due to be released in October, along with a small souvenir album to mark the fiftieth anniversary of my first hit "Les Elucubrations d'Antoine"
Have a September... septacular !
