October 2002
Hello everyone,
This letter will be short, since, these days, I navigate little... unless one takes into account the long, surprising and always fascinating hours spent sailing... on the Internet in search of some bit of information I need for one of my many projects... For there is, on my computer desk, a file named "Is it really reasonable? ", that lists all the projects I would like to carry out : books, CD-Rom, new film on Polynesia, and many more... Those who know well me know that if I want to carry out all these works, it is simply that each one of them fascinates me, that life is short, and that it's not in ten or twenty years that I will deal with all these dreams, often made possible by PCs: One can think strange the fact I like at the same time living close to nature, but also juggling with keyboard, mouse, programs and software... but data processing pleases me only for the immense creative possibilities it puts in our hands: formerly, erasing a pimple on the nose of a portrait was the exclusive field of expensive laboratories, today, one can "distil" the beauty of images, photographs, video, etc almost with bare hands... and it's fascinating. I wish you a pleasant October ; I for one, until the Paris Boat Show in December, will navigate little. But I will dream with you, diving among the photographs, the travel destinations and the messages on this site! As far as waves are concerned, the only ones I sail on these days are the rolling hills of the Massif Central , mountains in the center of France, where I take long walks in search of mushrooms. For the first time in fifteen years, I will sing on stage, on November 12 and 13, in Paris, at the Petit Journal, with orchestra and all, old songs from the time of my beginnings, some I brought back from my voyages, a little rock'n'roll, a little blues, a little folk, and some songs of freedom which I have always enjoyed... it will be a rare occasion !
