February 2002
Hello everyone,
A year has gone by since I wrote my previous letter. and it's been a busy year !
First, I have spent close to 4 months on board Banana Split, sailing the shores of Panama, in particular the San Blas Archipelago, to shoot a new film : Secret Caribbean.
Then I have boarded several other catamarans to complete the shooting : a Venezia in Guadeloupe, to cruise the lesser Antilles, always in search of little known islands ; a Belize catamaran... in Belize, to sail the world's second largest coral barrier, at the foot of ancient Mayan pyramids. After a wonderful stay on Roatan island, I have boarded a wooden catamaran to re-discover the Roques and Aves Islands, off the shores of Venezuela.
All these islands, and many more, are included in the new film "Secret Caribbean" (2 VHS or 1DVD).
I have also travelled to the Seychelles to shoot some advertising videos for a French chain of opticians, and I have been asked to produce a short documentary about an impressive attraction park located in Poitiers, France, the Futuroscope ; as the exhibits of Futuroscope are all dedicated to images (cinema, video, television, Imax, etc.), I chose to film in the TVHD format, as I have seen many HDTV sets are presently being bought in the USA, and I feel this is the format of future television
Lately, I have spent a week in St Martin, in the Caribbean, to shoot the opening sequences to a series of programs that has been broadcast on the French Voyage Channel daily during the Christmas holidays.
In Saint Martin, shootting the "Voyage" channel programm.
The boat show in Paris has been as hectic as ever, but at the end of December, I have flown back to Banana Split, that had been waiting for the past four months; it is now time to sail, through the San Blas, then across the Panama Canal, to the Galapagos and Polynesia.
I promise I'll try to keep you informed more often. Cheers
