Hello everyone,

Sweet November...
I don't know which version of this film made the strongest impression on me, the one from 1968, or more likely the one from 2001 with Keanu Reeves and Charlize Theron, but the memory of it is so strong that every year when this month comes around, I think of the brief story - thirty days - of this beautiful couple, so happy to be together... but the heroine gives the hero her notice at the end of the month, without explanation; when he comes back to her, she reveals that... Halt, spoiler! I'll leave you to find out on your own why she changes lovers every month.
October has lived up to this year of climatic upheavals, with, in particular, the last few days when the temperature reached new heights! The collapsible swimming pool I installed is under the shelter of a barn, it's true, but I'm still surprised that I can still do an hour's swimming on All Saints' Day! Around us the countryside remained beautiful, and the cows raised by our neighbor Patrick were in great shape!
I went to see the sea for forty-eight hours, for various meetings at the Salon du Multicoque d'occasion de Canet-en-Roussillon: you know that I am looking for a successor to take over Banana Split in a year or two, when I will have done my eightieth tour of the sun. On the program for this edition, among others, a lovely young Brazilian girl, Tamara Klink who at the age of 24 crossed the Atlantic single-handed from Norway to Brazil on a tiny sailboat that she had bought for the price of a bicycle!
This short stay in Canet, from where we had set sail in 1990 on Banana Split, allowed me to discover another of the magnificent aquariums that I had the chance to visit: in France, Océanopolis in Brest, of which I was one of the patrons, Nausicaa in Boulogne-sur-mer; the Aquarium of La Rochelle, which we visited in the company of the mayor of the city, Jean-François Fountaine, a few hours before the Xynthia storm ravaged the region; but also abroad, those of Darling Harbor in Sydney, Monterey, in California with its incredible underwater kelp forests and its equally spectacular jellyfish, or the one in Vancouver.
Oniria, the aquarium of Canet is magnificent, and of a very different kind; the visit begins with the ascent (shortened, rest assured) of Mount Canigou, emblematic of the region; From the snow-covered summit, we gently descend following the journey of a drop of water, along streams, rivers, Mediterranean shores, the great depths, not forgetting the coral reefs, mangroves and tropical forests, all admirably reconstructed by a passionate and fascinating researcher, Patrick Masanet. You can find some pictures of this meeting here.
