April 2007
Hello everyone,
Ten years already! In April 1997, exactly ten years ago, I wrote my first letter for this website:
On the Web or the Ocean, it's a matter of navigation... It doesn't come as a surprise that I can be found tacking between an URL and an HTTP, an FTP and a Plug-in, on the blue waves of the Internet... And as I cannot takeall of you along with me on my boat, the catamaran Banana Split, I suggest we meet from time to time on this page... it will be a kind of port-of-call, a small quiet anchorage where we will be able for a few moments to anchor our browser in calm and crystal-clear, turquoise waters.
As I write these lines, Banana Split waits for me in a lagoon in the Maldive islands, in the North of the Indian Ocean; in a few weeks, it will be in the Seychelles, and then I think of rediscovering with pleasure my native island, Madagascar; I made a long stopover there in 1979, I have gone back there during the shooting of my first film in the series "Once Upon An Island". Madagascar is a splendid island, immense, which has been for nearly thirty years practically cut from the rest of the World, and which is certainly promised to an extraordinary touristic future.
Eh, there are not so many websites that can boast of being 10 years old!
To celebrate this occasion, I offer to you to download free, if you have a fast Internet connection, a powerful enough computer and a screen with a good resolution (at least 1280 pixels wide), a small "Best Of" drawn from the next films to be published, and shot in High Definition: some of the images come from the first two films, whose publication is planned for the end of the year: Patagonia and New Zealand.
