After weeks of heatwave, the cold suddenly landed on the mountains of Auvergne, fortunately we have good supplies of wood. I am taking advantage of the few hours of sunshine to try to uproot the brambles that had invaded the embankment bordering our terrace.
We have finally been able to discover the "bistronomic" cuisine of the Bus 26, the restaurant on wheels that I told you about last month : following a cancellation, we discovered the talents of the chef, Charles and his wife Melina; Charles did his training at Regis Marcon's, in St Bonnet le Froid.
Banana Split is fine, it is still confined to itss marina at Lake Macquarie, north of Sydney, where ite is well taken care of; I have received recent photos, there is a bit of a mess on board, but usually it's worse.
While waiting, again, to be able to join him, we decided to go sailing off Italy for a while, to discover the mythical villages gathered under the name of "Cinque Terre"; if you want to go there, a piece of advice: forget your car, the villages are linked by a train that only takes a few minutes... By car : almost an hour between each of the five, so tortuous are the roads, as much as some Corsican roads; there are also beautiful paths where you can make pleasant meetings...
Our archive of the month: a small subject, (probably Pathé news) shot in June 1966 in the property of the great painter Victor Vasarely, in Annet sur Marne: I sing two verses of "Je dis ce que je pense et je vis comme je veux" (I say what I think and I live as I want); quite amusing, this song (well forgotten!) has remained in the memory of famous French Professor Raoult, who recently quoted it in an interview on French television!
October is here, but there is no question of going to see the colors of Autumn this year in Quebec, where my eldest son Manea lives, so you can find them in our monthly calendar.
Good month of October
