January 2016
Hello everyone,
After several days of beautiful weather, a period of bad weather approaches New Zealand's Bay of Islands, where Banana Split has been sailing for over a month, anchoring every evening amidst landscapes both marine and agricultural with grassland, sheep , vineyards ...
Our base is the small town of Paihia, nicely decorated, from where leave the boats that visit the many islands in the bay; we sailed up Kerikeri river, lined with beautiful houses in front of which owners moor their boat. Especially, we have crisscrosssed the Bay in search of the most beautuful of these famous pohutukawa trees, which bloom ijust before Christmas and are covered with thousands of large red flowers that constutute natural holidays ornaments. The most beautiful we found extended its lower branches above the water, and we have anchored Banana Split for a while under his branches to shoot our small greeting card.
So we wish you all a successful year, full of great projects and beautiful journeys. It is always a pleasure for us to receive, this time of the year, news from our friends sailing or traveling in Asia, the Marquesas, the Caribbean and Madagascar.
May your month of January make everybody envious !
Antoine
