October 2012
Hello everyone,
Back to work, with lots of new publications
It will soon be time to really return to work. October too has been very busy with travel: I took my catamaran Banana Split to Moorea, from where my friend Bernard will soon sail it to the Gambier archipelago. Then, before leaving the Pacific, I made a quick trip to New-Zealand, to check on some spots where we'll certainly spend time in the near future, in particular a magnificent harbour, very well sheltered at the end of Northland, an excellent anchoring spot overlooked by pretty homes where it would feel nice to settle for some time.
Then I flew back to Paris, but we immediately left again for La Rochelle, where I had the pleasure of being asked to be the honour guest at the fortieth installment of the Grand Pavois, one of Europe's largest boat shows in the water; I was present during the first edition, in 1973, and it was then that my project of one day sailing singlehanded around the world suddenly took shape, when I met builders, architects, a publisher, and most of all the "Damiens", two guys who had just completed a really inspirational circumnavigation that had very much impressed me.
October also begins with a journey, since I am going to spend two days in Biarritz for the shoot of the video of the first single from my new album, "Demain Cayenne" Tomorrow Cayenne".The new album of original songs, the first one I published since 1987 will be released on October 28.
Around the same time will appear on one hand our new film dedicated to the Parks of the American West, from California to the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley and Yellowstone, and a new book that I felt necessary to write, a very different from the cruising narratives and photo albums that I usually publish. It may surprise some of you, but I am sure you'll understandthat the topic I address is consistent with concern of freedom that is mine since I claimed in 1966 "the pill on sale I department stores. This book addresses a number of dogmas which wrongly complicate our lives. The book be published in early November.
I wish you an Optimal October
Antoine
