July 2009
Hello everyone,
Where do weeks and months disappear?
I feel like June has lasted only three days!
It is true that after completing our fabulous journey around the World with a short and very dynamic stop-over on Reunion Island (including helicopter flights and various shootings for our "Touchez pas à la mer"- Do not harm the sea- website)
We have right away undertaken the realisation of the photographic album planned for Gallimard for publication next autumn, and the editing of the two new films, Australia and South East Asia to be published around the same date.
And what a job it is to transform thousands of shots into a 52-minute film, with its music, its commentaries, and so on. At the time I write these words, I still have to record a few foreign voices (English, Italian) and to polish the whole thing, then I shall return to my catamaran Banana Split that's waiting for me in the Leeward Islands.
I will certainly find it much transformed, as my friend Arnaud to whom I lent the boat for a three month cruise with his wife and two young children, has taken care of and fixed many technical details that I had somehow neglected in the past years; I will tell you all about it; my plans are to sail westward by the end of July.
The sun has come back over Paris and its Velibs (a very effective public system of rental bikes); wherever you plan to spend your holidays, on a boat, on a beach, in a distant city or close by, or whether you stay in your town (after all, it is the best time to discover it in a peaceful mood !), I wish you all excellent holidays. My next letter should reach you from somewhere on the Pacific Ocean.
Bye For now
