Hello everyone,
Revisiting Paris, a short stay...
Revisiting Paris, a short stay… these are the words of famous French singer Charles Trenet in one of his songs.
For me, it’s been a three day stopover for the filming of a wonderful program by Michel Drucker, which will be broadcast on June 28th, the date of the show's summer break.
An exceptional program, dedicated to holidays and travel, featuring the hosts of some of France's most popular documentary series: Philippe Gougler (Trains Like No Other), Sophie and Jérôme from (Echappées belles escapades, Antoine de Maximy (I'll Go Sleep at Your Place), Julie Andrieu… Memories of our childhoods, images of the most beautiful places we've visited—and filmed ! Don't miss this program!
I took advantage of this brief stay in Paris to stroll along the banks of the Seine, to glance at the new wrapping created by the artist JR fifty years after Christo did , and—memories, memories—a few kilometers upstream, to rediscover the small branch of the Marne river where, during the 1969 Fête du Petit Vin Blanc (a famous wine festival), the mayor, Roland Nungesser, and the head of Télé Dimanche, Raymond Marcillac, had asked me to cross the river by walking on a tightrope (an art I had learned from an old Russian tightrope walker from the Bouglione Circus at a Gala for the Union des Artistes). I found the photo and colorized it using AI.
I also had the opportunity to rediscover the fascinating world of Parisian arcades, including the Passage des Panoramas, dating back to 1800, the direct ancestor of today's shopping malls and shopping centers.
And now we're back in Auvergne, where the crops withstood the late May heatwave and seem to be thriving: lettuce, radishes, zucchini (for their blossoms in fritters), celery, tomatoes, artichokes, green beans, fennel, peppers, herbs, and chili peppers.
Yum!
See you soon
Antoine
