Notes from our lecture tour...

Brrr...
Just when we thought it was spring, a freezing episode appears on our shores; our conference tour ends on April 1st with heavy snowfalls; Not so much here in Beauvais, the last town on the programme, but in the rest of France, in Auvergne, where we fear, as last year, that the frost will destroy the cherry, plum and myrobolan plum harvests, but also in the Alps, where we are leaving on Saturday by train to spend the last evening of the season in Courchevel, where my daughter Vaimiti is sous-chef at the K2 Palace.
The tour has been nice, even if the public is still reluctant, after these two years, to go back to the cinemas, we had the best audiences, often more than most blockbusters, but we hope that the public will be more numerous in a few months, after the summer, when we go back on the road.

A few amusing adventures during these conferences: a fan who showed up with a mask bearing a photo of huge French star Johnny Hallyday, which he gave me as a gift; a large family who approached me in the extremely picturesque streets of the beautiful city of Troyes, a stone's throw from the famous "Heart of Troyes". On Monday I am shooting for the television show Stupéfiant a report on the love story between the Rolling Stones and France; this gave me the opportunity to discover an archive where we see the Stones and yours truly disembarking from a Caravelle in Marignane for a brief tour in March 1966 (56 years already!) And then I plan to take a plane to Australia in a few days to return to my catamaran Banana Split and to work for two months to get it back in shape after these two years of immobility. Hopefully it won't be too difficult. I wish that after these few days of cold weather, you will soon be back to spring-like temperatures! See you soon
