Hello everyone,
The Blu-Ray Blues...
It's been quite an adventure, before we managed to have our first film, dedicated to Patagonia, at last available in Blu-Ray (one of the two formats of High definition DVD) ; It's been an adventure, that went through Tokyo, America, Austria, Paris... The technology is so new that even the most high-tech structures, such as the great software publisher Adobe (Photoshop, Premiere Pro) or the topmost graphical studios are still experimenting... I had hoped to proposes as soon as this month our two new films both in standard DVD and in High Definition Blu-Ray... but we'll have to wait a little more for the film about New Zealand : although the disc has been replicated by Sony's official plant in Austria, it has been stamped for who knows what region : Japan, USA, the planet Mars, and refuses to be played by any player !
The Blu-Ray disc of the film about New Zealand, on the contrary, works perfectly, and what a beauty! I know that few people are already equipped with the three indispensable elements, a Blu-Ray disc player ( we think about issuing the discs in a few months in the HD DVD format), a -Full HD- screen ( 1080 lines : one can make do with a -HD Ready - only 720 lines - if the screen is under 36- across, but it is not really the same thing), and the adequate connecting cable ( usually HDMI) but when the three things are gathered, what a sensation.. the view of the floating ice floes fallen from Grey Glacier, for instance, are so perfectly drawn that il looks like a 3D image from a computer; and landscapes, animal, flowers are so sharp, so clear, and their beauty are so incredible
I will spend a few days at the Paris Boat Show, where I will present on the display of the French leading boating magazine, Bateaux, the images of this film. If you happen to pass this way, I will be happy to autograph for you books or DVDs, as well as to meet sailing friends I often meet there.
It will be the last few days of a very busy period where I've participated in the most famous shows in French TV; I still have to sing a song in duet with Mareva Galanter, a very lovely Miss France from Tahiti, then I will fly back to Polynesia, where my catamaran Banana Split's waiting for me...
So in the mean time, I'll be happy to take you in my two new films to New Zealand or Patagonia, in DVD, or , for the latter, in High Definition
